Dear Corinne and Mihelic Family,

Just wanted to tell you Cooper is doing well…He’s such a good boy!!!  I got him registered last night and his full register name is Cooper Blaze of Lake Forest. I have him scheduled to see a veterinarian at 8:30 am on 1/29/10.   He never cried a peep last night and pottyed outside twice.  What a swell little fellow…He’s already stolen his Poppy’s heart and mine too.. I will send you pictures as he grows.  Thank you again and I will tell others about you.

Hey there. Sorry it has taken me a while to respond. Life is busy here. However, I just wanted to give you an update on Miley, also known as Princess Miley. She is still the love of our lives and gets treated like royalty. She and Lucky have fun playing together. When Miley is in my lap Lucky has learned to distract Miley with a squeeker toy or bone and gets her to get down to play with whatever he is offering as a trade (he just wants my lap to himself!) It is hilarious to watch. Miley has discovered the outdoors this spring and she loves it. She wants to chase bunnies and birds, but we've had to leash her on her trips outdoors. They both dance at the door for their nightly walks around our neighborhood. And of course the neighbors come running to see our baby. :) We love her more and more every day. I'm going to attach some pictures of her. I'll have to get McKenna in there with the dogs and send you one of all three of them.

We think Miley is beautiful too and she's just as sweet as she is pretty. Thank you for breeding such nice dogs. I think Miley weighs near 7 lbs. Not sure how much bigger she will get. She still eats like a bird. I am going to be transitioning her over to adult food soon because I struggle to keep her food away from Lucky, aka...Hoover. She likes to eat with one of us sitting next to her. Talk about spoiled! She sleeps with me when Lynn is out of town and lastnight (when he was home) she whined to get in the bed. She just wanted some snuggle time! Talk about spoiled. Afterward she went to sleep in her crate. However, she gets up between 3 and 5 and wants to get in the bed. I get up to go to the bathroom and of course she gets to come in. We haven't spoiled her a bit have we? LOL! Lucky is every bit as spoiled as well.

 

We're delighted as ever with Miley. I take her to school to pick up McKenna sometimes and she scans the crowd of kids to find her. It is funny. She is very shy. I'm having issues with Lucky being ugly toward strangers, men in particular. Any suggestions? Also, how much bigger do you think Miley will get?

 

By the way...when my husband asked me what I wanted for mother's day I told him I only wanted one thing...guess what it was? The little black and tan girl you have for sale. He said NO WAY!. I'll keep trying though. Maybe after we're moved and settled in. I love the disposition of the long haired dachshunds and I want a black and tan, and a cream....guess I have to keep dreaming. When we buy in Virginia, we're going to be looking for a fenced in yard for our babies.

Hi Corinne, Sorry it's been so long since I've talked to you or sent you any pictures but you wouldn't believe what a year we have had. My mother and John's father have both had open heart surgery, my father passed away, and Shawn has graduated and is getting ready to go to college. We just got back from vacation and thought I would send you a few pictures. As you can see, Tucker is beautiful, and he is as sweet a dog as you could ever want. He has us all wrapped up in him and is spoiled rotten!! I believe these dogs must have the best personality of any dog there is!! I am so glad we found you and our precious little Tucker!! Hi Corinne,

Thought you might enjoy seeing our baby. He is so sweet....he sure likes to have constant attention. He follows my every step through the house of the mornings when I'm getting ready for work and likes to sit with me whenever I'm in the room. John says he is a "mommy's boy"! We haven't had an inside accident in over a week now. He doesn't ring the bells but he isn't going until we take him outside. I'm not convinced we've got it accomplished yet....but it sure is better.

I'll send more pictures in a few weeks.

Hi Corinne!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you but I have to say that Margo has had my undivided attention.  Ha!  First of all I want to say WE LOVE HER!!!  She is wonderful!  Margo has added so much to our lives.  I can't imagine a day without her.  She is extremely smart, already knows how to sit, fetch and comes when she is called.  Housebreaking has been a little difficult but she's coming around slowly. 

After having her for just 2 days she has been sleeping with us every night. Margo loves to cuddle and it's wonderful to see how much she enjoys her toys.  She went for her first grooming on Saturday and behaved very well.

All our neighbors now know her and love her too!  Margo has a wonderful personality.  She loves to play but yet wants to be cuddled and held when she gets tired.  Of course, I enjoy the cuddling myself.  I told Dave that Margo needs a playmate.  I don't think he's ready for another yet.  Ha!  As soon as I can I'll send you pictures.  She has really grown!  She goes to the vet on Monday & I'll have a new weight for her.  Her last visit she weighted 3 lbs. 12 oz.

New update on Eddie 12-7-09

Corinne,

Wanted to let you know how much we love Eddie.  He puts a smile on our face everyday (many). He was neutered on Friday and all went well.  He didn't have to spend the night and I was glad.  Everybody wants him to sleep with them.  We have to take turns.  Looks like he has taken another growing spurt.  He's getting longer.

He absolutely loves Giget, our Golden Retriever.  He has to do everything she does - he doesn't want to take naps in his bed he wants to cuddle with her.  She seems to like his adoration. 

Love the pics of your new puppies.  They are beautiful and love the names.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas.  Will send Christmas photos of Eddie.  Attached are a couple of he and Giget.

Update 12-9-09

He's doing wonderful.  He was neutererd about 3-4 weeks ago and did very well.  The vet's office said they were happy to see us when we picked him up that day because he had cried all afternoon wanting someone to hold him.  They tried everything to console him until they finally realized he just wanted to be held, so they took turns holding him until we picked him up.  He's a little spoiled, but so adorable!  He has to be the sweetest natured dachshund I have ever been around. 
 
I have attached a couple of pictures from Sarah's files and will try to send you more when she downloads her camera on the computer.  He has lost alot of the black, which is now mainly on his tail.  I'm guessing he is around 9 pounds now and sweet as can be.

9-12-9 update!

I couldn't have asked for a better scenario to play out.  Shiloh absolutely loves Coco and he is the same with Shiloh.  Actually they both leave the other 2 alone so everyone is happy.  I have been home sick the last two days and all Coco wants to do is snuggle up on my  chest with me.  Everyone else went camping this weekend so the dogs and I have been home alone.  Coco has been really good being in his pen while I slept alot but when I was up I had him and Shiloh wear each other out (poor Coco has permenantly wet ears) but they enjoy the company and will snuggle up on the couch.  Coco is not scared of anything.  I have to really watch him because he doesn't think twice about taking a flying leap off the couch (this is now a major watching issue when he is on the couch) He is also running up and down the steps so if I don't want him running the whole house there are a lot of gates up.  We absolutely love the little guy and Shiloh and Coco can't get or give enough lovin.  Will keep you updated and will send you pictures of the two (the large and small) of them together.

Thats simba.  My sister in-law had him and gave him to me.   They love each other!  -always together!   Coco is the boss!  She also is such a sweetie. Likes to bug them until they chase her. She runs around like a bullet.  Its hyaterical! We love her to pieces!

I just realized it has been almost a month now since I last sent you an update on Andouille. Andouille is doing great and we love our little fur kid...he is such a cuddle bug, and Mike loves coming home to him after work. He is a house training superstar and just recently started puppy class ... he already knows "sit" and "down" (honors student !!!)

I have attached a few photos of Douille's First Christmas. We wrapped a few presents for him to open so he could be part of the action.

 I’ve attached some pics of Mozie - - I absolutely love him to pieces and he has become sooooo attached to me. I LOVE it!!

A couple of these photos depict what happens when a dachshund is left alone at home and he gets bored AND the owners forget to close the bedroom door. (you will notice, however, in the distance on the puppy pad is a nice little deposit he left for us). I couldn’t resist sending these along. I’m sure you’ve experienced this and much more, but it was just a riot! Also took a couple of pics that would give you a better idea what he looks like at the age of almost 5 months. He’s grown - - @8 pounds, plus or minus a few ounces. I hope he doesn’t get much bigger, though. And, his coat is beginning to look like that of a long haired dachshund.

He has traveled a lot with us this summer and does quite well in the car. People have remarked on how beautiful his color is and want to know where we got him. I always give them your name and the kennel’s name – it’s easy to remember, isn’t it? So many people remember the song by John Denver. 

Still having issues with house training, but mostly that’s my fault. I think if I gave it some truly concerted effort, he’d come around pretty quickly. He’s doing better and better all the time. Took him with me in the RV on a trip with my nephew and his wife to Arkansas and they just loved him to pieces. They were a great influence on helping to praise him when he had success on the pee pads.

AHMD got a special call from Santa Clause this year!

     Boy was I surprised when I got a personal call from Santa Clause himself! He told me there was a very special little girl named Michela that lived just down the road a bit from me in Point Pleasant, WV that he thought really needed a Dachshund puppy for Christmas this year. He wanted to know if I had any available that he could get for her. He said he had to be a very special puppy, because Michela was a very special little girl and deserved the best! Well, I said "Santa, I just happen to have the perfect puppy for her. His name is Chub Chub and he is beautiful and the sweetest little fellow you could ever meet. I think he would be the perfect puppy for Michela!" Santa was very pleased to hear this, and said he would take him to Michela for Christmas! Well, Santa came to my house Christmas Eve to pick him up, and take him to Michela :) I wonder what Chub Chub thought of all the reindeer and riding on Santa's sleigh? I bet it was pretty cool! Take good care of Chub Chub Michela, give him lot's of hugs and kisses!

Sorry, I have not taken the time to let you know how (Oliver) Pop is doing.  He has totally won the hearts of everyone in the family except Kipper (the king dog).  He loves to be held and played with.  We are doing ok with the potty training but the excessive snow and cold weather is hard on everyone.  Oliver will be getting neutered on Jan. 29.  Even though he is little he runs Kipper out of the food and bed.  We love Oliver very much!  Megan is a good Mom but he seems to like Grandma more.  Hope to have some pictures soon.  He is soooooo cute!

Update!! 5-1-10 Oliver came to visit me today with his mommy Megan. She came with her Uncle & Aunt that were picking up their new baby Elmer. Oliver sure has turned into a very handsome boy. He is now 1.9 years old. Gorgeous hunk like his daddy Skittles.

I meant to let you know that yesterday Peanut got fixed.  The procedure went really smooth and he is doing great!  Last night was a little groggy for him and he and I both passed out on my bedroom floor. I just love him!!!  He rocks our world.  Thanks again for him!  He is now 7.5 pounds and is so healthy!!!  Praise the Lord!
